EDS were awarded the sub-contract to supply and install a number of steel louvre assemblies for the Specialism Building and Refuse Air Handling Building for the above site, which will be used as the main MediaAdmin building during the London 2012 Olympics and then fitted out afterwards as an Academy for local residents.
The door assemblies had to be “secure by design” and therefore a lot of pre-design was involved to ensure full approval was granted before commencing with manufacture.
Being a very secure site, deliveries had to be meticulously planned in advance with dedicated delivery vehicles and named drivers arriving at a special holding area for checking 1 hour prior to being allowed on site.
This contract proved very demanding throughout but EDS performed admirably and can say with pride that they have been involved in the lasting legacy of the Olympics.
